    Roadside Beauty

There are several areas along the road in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with wonderful views, such as this spot. If you’d rather not have to travel for such sights, you could instead pick out a print from any of my shops and enjoy this view in your home, all year long! See more here → Pixels, Redbubble and ArtPal.

  • Luftee Overlook

    Luftee Overlook

A morning sun rises over the Smoky Mountains, as seen from Luftee Overlook, located near Newfound Gap & Clingmans Dome. You can visit my gallery to find many fine prints available, perfect for a wall in your home, at the office, or as a gift to give to family and/or friends.

  • Clingmans Dome

Located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park along the state line between North Carolina and Tennessee, Clingmans Dome is a popular tourist destination. So much so, that on any given good-weather day, visitors may observe vehicles with license plates from 25 or more states.

From the parking area, it’s a short 1/2 mile hike along a paved trail, though the grade is quite steep. As such, there are several benches along the way on which to rest. There’s also a gift shop & restrooms.

Standing 6,643-feet tall, Clingmans Dome is both the tallest mountain in the park and in the state of Tennessee. It’s also the highest point along the 2,192-mile Appalachian Trail, and the third tallest mountain (after Mount Mitchell and Mount Craig) east of the Mississippi River. Lastly, it’s the 17th tallest mountain in the United States of America.

If you’d be interested in a fine print, you can see more in my gallery.

    Sticks and Stones

These cascades were photographed along Middle Prong Little River, and would look great behind a frame on a wall in your home, office, business lobby, school, hospital or cafeteria setting! You can visit my gallery to select the perfect accent piece, choosing from these print-types: framed, art, metal, canvas, wood, acrylic, poster and tapestry. Framed prints may be customized to suit your wishes, as well.

  • Footbridge Trailhead

This photograph features a footbridge at the trailhead of Middle Prong Trail, one of my favorites areas to hike in the Smoky Mountains. The structure delineates the point at which Lynn Camp Prong becomes Middle Prong Little River, as Thunderhead Prong (not seen) merges with the waterway this side of the bridge, from the right. This narrow bridge is also used by horses, so watch your step!

Fine prints (framed, art, canvas, metal, wood, poster, acrylic and tapestry) are available in my gallery at Pixels, and other items can also be found in my shop at Redbubble. Hope to see you soon!

    Poem

    Watching white water wash away
    From the mossy green riverbanks
An inner peace transcends my day
Blessed with such beauty, I give thanks

    Little Presque Isle

This vintage photograph was taken from the top of Sugarloaf Mountain in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, near Marquette, and features a Lake Superior coastline with Little Presque Isle in the distance. Prints and more available. Thanks for visiting!

  • Thunderhead Prong

In the Tremont section of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, beyond the gravel road and across a foot bridge near the trailhead of Middle Prong Trail, hikers can keep to the right to follow Thunderhead Prong Quiet Walkway.

This trail is less commonly hiked, though offers several beautiful areas with easy access along Thunderhead Prong. Case in point, this photograph was taken approx. 1.5 hours after sunrise, as sunlight crested mountain tops from the east, filtering through sparse clouds into the forest to illuminate an area of trees.
