  • Cliffs at Twin Arches

After enjoying the arches, caves and vistas from atop natural land bridges at Twin Arches, located in Big South Fork National Park, near Oneida, Tennessee, I continued hiking and photographed this large, overhanging cliff. If interested, you can find prints available in my gallery. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Tracks Through Time

Sound from a distant whistle pierces the silence of night, as a growing thunder of steel travels on tracks through time, slowing near town. People are asleep in bed, dreaming while the train rolls on rails, carrying the faint rhythm of a harmonica flowing free from an open boxcar. The song remains the same, as all sound slips slowly back into darkness, down the line.

  • Slice of Paradise

Sandy beach and Pacific Ocean photographed on Oahu, Hawaii

I’d like to thank my brother, Mike Perkins, for allowing me to post this photograph, which he took on a recent visit to the island of Oahu, Hawaii. It’s a great shot and looks like a beautiful beach on which to enjoy the Pacific Ocean!

  • Cave Behind Waterfall

This photograph was taken from inside a massive cave underneath the 40-foot tall Big Laurel Falls, located in the Virgin Falls State Park. Although the water level along Big Laurel Creek was low during my visit, its interesting that the entire area sits on top of a broad network of subterranean caverns. As such, this waterfall (and others) disappear underground, oftentimes to reemerge some great distance away.

You can find a variety of fine prints featuring my photography in the following galleries, including such options as framed, canvas, art, metal, wood, poster, acrylic and tapestry. Other products are also available…

Thanks for visiting & enjoy the great outdoors!

  • Visiting Look Rock

After hiking, I drove north on US-321 and turned east onto the Foothills Parkway. It’s an 11-mile drive up and along the ridge line to Look Rock, an elevated platform from which to observe the Smoky Mountains. This was my second visit at this location, and, despite being mostly overcast, it’s always nice to have a look from above the clouds. You can visit my gallery to see more…

  • Cummins Falls

    Cummins Falls

Located on the Cumberland Plateau near Cookeville, Tennessee, the 75-foot tall Cummins Falls draws visitors from far and wide. Annually, it accounts for the 8th largest volume of water for a waterfall in the state, and much of the trail used to access the base is the riverbed. Also, inexpensive permits are required to enter the gorge.
