Terraced ledges channel flowing water from the 75-foot tall Cummins Falls. Located on the Blackburn Fork River in Cookeville, Tennessee, you can enjoy this natural setting in a frame on a wall when you visit these shops: Pixels, Redbubble and/or ArtFlakes. Thanks for stopping by!
Step by Step
Shots from the Trail
You can visit my gallery at Pixels to see more. Photographs shown here include rain-soaked steps leading out of a gorge and into the forest at Fall Creek Falls State Park; an early morning shot of Thunderhead Prong, in the Smoky Mountains; and, billowing clouds in the distance one afternoon. Thanks for stopping by!
Stairs and Stones
Hiking to the far side of Black Mountain, situated in Crab Orchard, TN, at an elevation of 2827-feet above sea level, one encounters a long stairway between boulders. It narrows to shoulder-width, so, if you’re claustrophobic, take note. The steps are uneven in depth and height, and may also be slippery, as the area is shielded from direct sunlight to evaporate moisture.
Once at the bottom, hikers find themselves in a maze of giant boulders ranging in size between 10 to 30-feet tall. Have fun, but don’t get lost!
Consumed by Nature
This photograph was taken at an old gristmill, located along the Clinch River at the Norris Dam State Park, in Tennessee, featuring a manmade terraced-shoot used to divert water when the mill was idle. Today, it’s covered with moss.
You can visit my gallery for prints, including: framed, art, metal, wood, acrylic, poster, canvas and tapestry. It would look wonderful in both home and office spaces, and makes a great gift-giving idea! Thanks for stopping by.
Based on a photograph, this digital rendition of an architecturally interesting array of steps reminds me of graphic artwork by the famous M.C. Escher. You can discover some cool stuff available in these shops: Redbubble, ArtPal and Pixels. Thank you!

Black And White Steps
South Cumberland State Park
Most often, steps are more fun to look at then to ascend. Case in point, these steps leading uphill from Foster Falls, at the South Cumberland State Park located in Sequatchie, Tennessee. Composed of some wooden but mostly rock steps, this black and white photograph might be the perfect accent for an empty wall in your living spaces, or perhaps serve as a gift.
