    Meigs Falls

Set back from the road approx. 150-feet, Meigs Falls is often overlooked by passersby traveling along Little River Gorge Road, in the Smoky Mountains. So, if you’re in the neighborhood, make sure to take your time and enjoy the many scenic sights to see. Alternatively, you might chose to visit my gallery and purchase a print to enjoy in your own home! That would be nice, too. Thanks for stopping by!

    Meigs Falls

I recently drove to the Smoky Mountains to capture photographs along Little River. Standing 20-feet tall, this waterfall is named Meigs Falls and can be observed from Little River Gorge Road, along a scenic pullover. However, because it’s set back in the forest approx. 100-yards, it’s often overlooked by passersby while driving.

Using a crop-sensor Nikon D7500 with a 1.5 times magnification, these photographs were shot with a zoom lens at focal lengths of 18mm (27mm) and 105mm (157mm), respectively. And, they would look even better close-up on an empty wall in your home! You can visit my gallery to select a print type of your choosing, and framed prints may also customized to make it your own!

After watching the sunrise along the Foothills Parkway, I drove down to Little River, headed west and followed the road until I reached Meigs Falls. It’s an often overlooked waterfall, despite being visible from the road, as its set back roughly 100-yards (seen here using a zoom lens). Prints available.

This is Northrup Falls, a 65-foot tall waterfall located in the Colditz Cove State Natural Area near Allardt, Tennessee.

Visitors hiking this moderately difficult 1.3 mile out and back trail can understand why cliff dwelling Indians made this their home approx. 3,000 years ago – overhanging cliffs extend outward nearly 50-feet in some areas, providing substantial natural shelter.
