    Poem in Response

After reading “My Inspired Blog Back Story“, written by the very talented and lovely Arizonian poetess, Michele Lee Sefton – wherein she elaborates upon her decision to pursue writing, discusses challenges, hard work and successes – I was inspired to write this poem…

From an absence of light came a spark in the dark
In a call from her dreams to connect with her heart
Inspiration brought joy with both truth and reward
When she answered to make a creative fresh start

    Poem

    Time is Precious

    Time is precious
    It’s of the essence
    It’s here, then gone
    From adolescence

    The time you have
    And the time you take
    The things you’ve done
    And the plans you make
    The sights you’ve seen
    Now a memory
    And what’s to come
    Yet a fantasy

    Time marches on
    Though nary a sound
    Hands on the wall
    Each day spin around

    Time is fleeting
    Take note and behold
    Lessons in life
    With age, growing old

    Make your time count
    To be a good friend
    Share happiness
    And love to the end

    Poem in Response

After reading “Just Simple Pleasures for Today“, written by a dear friend & southern poetess, Kym Gordon Moore – wherein she shares her positivity with a morning cup of gratitude – I was inspired to write this short poem in response…

    From a fountain that flows
    Streaming words which are wise
    Her heartfelt reflections
    Penned with love, no surprise

  • Famous Quotes

Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So, love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

    Poem of Courage

After reading a friend’s writing, “The Hell’s Barge Self” – an inspiring account of ones fighting spirit to cherish life through surgery and not succumb to agents of evil – I wrote this poem in response…

    Facing the faces of many
    Disparaging people unkind
A warrior of courage with faith
Evil cast away – out of mind.

Drifting on boat through a dark hell
    Operating to fight disease
    Veiled voices behind a curtain
A lesson learned – not to appease.

    Emerging stronger than before
Precious life held close to her heart
Eyes opened look forward with hope
Living life anew – a fresh start.

    Seize The Day

Carpe diem was a phrase used by the Roman poet Horace, published in 23 BC, to express the notion that one should enjoy life while one can. I created this design using Bryce software, depicting a morning sunrise illuminating typography in an imaginary landscape. Poem In Response

Inspired by a friend, writer Carla Milho & her recent work, “Rest In Peace” – where she discusses the gift of life, present challenges, and an optimistic future – I wrote this short poem in response

The dark corners of empty rooms
    Negative events of the past
    I’ll put aside such memories
Like ghosts not meant to last.

    Instead, the sounds of happiness
    From friends who really care
This miracle of life, so grand
It’s mine – to live and share.

My dreams ahead, pursued with hope
    I’ll focus on the positive
Because the best is yet to come
And, yes, I’ve got so much to give!
