This vintage photograph was taken after sunset from a 5th floor apartment in Miami Beach, Florida, looking across Biscayne Bay at the Miami skyline. I’ve added textural elements to boost the retro vibe, as well. You can see this image on great gifts, prints and apparel in the following shops…
This poem was written for a dear friend, Carla Milho – a very talented writer and lovely lady from Lisbon, Portugal – who is a frequent source of my inspiration, often on my mind and in my heart…
Beneath starlit skies Passion lights our eyes Drawing near, love invites summer fun
These moments, sublime – always right on time When we feel our two hearts beat as one
Over the passed few years, I’ve published several poems on my web site. Many are written in response to creative writings posted by friends, and, therein, are commonly entitled Poem in Response, or, Poem for a Friend.
However, I also oftentimes include poetry in my comments, a few examples of which I’ve cited below…
On the wings of a love story that flies into emotions of an audience hungry for an honest, romantic read, your tale tantalizes and tugs at heart strings beautifully, as a hopeful pull into happiness.
Having read “What is Required of Me Today?“, written by a talented poetess and dear friend, Kym Gordon Moore – wherein she affirms the personal power of motivation applied to encourage others – I was inspired to write this poem in response…
With positive vibrations Weaving words which resonate Visions of a brighter day Shared spreading love, never hate
Having read “Thirsty“, a heavenly haiku written by a lovely poetess and dear friend from the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, Michele Lee, I was inspired to write this poem in response…
Stories bound in time Cataloged between bookends Libraries of life
A Day In The Life, by The Beatles (1967) – see lyrics here.
NOTE
From May 15-20th, Michele Lee is hosting a What moves you? (blog challenge), where two participants will have “a chance to win an item from artist entrepreneur Sammi Lee’s Mintaka Collection“. Check it out!
Having read “A Qualquer Altura” (Portuguese, meaning Anytime) by Carla Milho, a gifted writer, truly beautiful woman and dear friend – wherein she speaks of dreams, love and courage – I was inspired to write this poem in response…
She puts the poem in my pen And so, I’m at it again Sending song through my words to her heart
I hope one day she will find That we are two of a kind Hear my call Share her love Play a part

Interlaced with threads of sadness, where shadows fade into night like days of the future passed, blended with blues into a blur of yesteryear, this half empty outer world exists in stark contrast to the full beauty you exude, an inner glow of which can brighten every tomorrow.
Having read “Serenity Found in Being“, written by Cindy Georakas, a dear friend and talented poetess from California – wherein she describes her zen-like approach to creative writing – I was inspired to write this poem in response…
Like a daydream in flight Drawn towards poetic light Your penned words cast a glow in the sky
Make the most of each day In a creative way Write on winds of the mind as you fly
Sold in a suit of gold
As a gift for humanity
Yet, AI will restrain
Future prosperity
Through algorithmic eyes
Trapped in a house of mirrors
Reflections on mankind
Dim as need disappears
Delusions of grandeur
Transposing humans, digital
It's not evolution
- ours is a hollowed skull
Prints available. This vintage, autumn photograph of waves on Lake Superior was taken in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, near the city of Marquette, on the beach at Little Presque Isle.
Prints available. This scene features the shadows of trees, pointing up a paved mountain trail, as I hiked to Look Rock Tower – located along the Foothills Parkway near Townsend, Tennessee.
Prints available. With the Smoky Mountains in the distance, morning fog envelopes the town of Wears Valley, below, as cloud cover above appears foreboding and pronounced in black and white.
Into the Mystic, by Van Morrison (1970) – see lyrics here.
Soft moonlight in her eyes
A flower in her hair
She reached to take my hand
- come with me, if you dare
I dare, my dear
Indeed, I do
I so enjoy
This time with you
We walked awhile
Without a word
Then suddenly, she stopped
In warm embrace
Our bodies pressed
Onto the sand we dropped
Into the night
We fell in love
As stars dotted the sky
When morning came
She winked and said
- until next time, goodbye
A short distance further downstream from Upper Potter’s Falls is, you guessed it – Lower Potter’s Falls. A two-tier waterfall located along Crooked Fork Creek on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee, it’s a picturesque setting with several large boulders resting on geological terraces.
Prints are available featuring my photography, with several options to suit your interests – framed, canvas, art, metal, poster, wood, acrylic and tapestry. And, framed prints may also be customized.
