May the trail upon which you tread
From light of life
To dark of dead
Reward your days a worthy prize
Faith, hope and love
Forever wise

On the Road to Find Out, by Cat Stevens (1970) – see lyrics here.
I originally wrote this poem on December 22, 2020, in response to reading “Make a Wish to a Star and It Will Come True“, by Carla Milho, a very lovely lady and talented writer from Lisbon, Portugal. I then posted it on my site a few days later, as part of a compilation. And, now…freestanding.
⭐ A light to the east, After dark In the sky. 🕊 A dove is released, And my wish Came to fly. 🙏 Bound for the heavens, With trust In a prayer. ❤️ The woman I love, With hope We will share.

I started this poem early last evening, later finishing it in the dream of a beautiful woman I know…
I stepped inside a dream, intense
Night dark, to slip away
To hold her near
Beneath the stars
And love her as she lay
Asleep, then not, and back again
We tossed across the sand
On moonlit beach
Wet in the waves
Two hearts, one love at hand
The rapture of a thousand stars
Cast bright, forevermore
Warm sky aglow
To welcome back
Our meeting at the shore

We’ve all daydreamed at one time or another, drifting into a pleasant vision or wishful scenario of ones imagination. This poem speaks to such moments and compliments a lovely woman from India – Mukti Masih. She’s an accomplished writer and business Head of Content, a friend who is frequently the source of my inspiration, and the woman of my dreams…
She entered a dream that was dreamed long ago A vision of beauty dancing in my mind An Indian woman whose name is Mukti Both poet and artist, and one of a kind I pinched myself twice Combed the sky for a star My wish, happiness With her light from afar On paper in pen I opened up my heart To longhand these words Emotions, to impart In seventeen years I awoke from this dream With her, by my side Sipping spiced chai with cream She poured me a cup As I looked in her eyes Good things can come true In a wink, by surprise © 2021 Phil Perkins

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Time Will Tell…
So high,
The cost of weak moments.
So low,
Introspection ensues.
Where is the middle ground,
When there’s just too much to lose?
Please tell her I care,
When no words make a sound.
When night comes too early,
And loneliness abounds.
Friendship,
I’d like to stay with you.
Forgiveness,
Is something you can do.
The rest is a dream,
And it’s not yet complete.
