Shots From the Trail
Prints available. This vintage, autumn photograph of waves on Lake Superior was taken in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, near the city of Marquette, on the beach at Little Presque Isle.
Prints available. This scene features the shadows of trees, pointing up a paved mountain trail, as I hiked to Look Rock Tower – located along the Foothills Parkway near Townsend, Tennessee.

Indian Flats Falls
Located in the Tremont section of the Great Smoky Mountains, near Cades Cove in Tennessee, Indian Flats Falls features a beautiful four-tiered series of waterfalls, totaling nearly 60-feet.
The trek is approx. 8 miles out and back through a scenic, forested landscape, and hikers commonly have the area all to themselves to enjoy a peaceful visit.

Visiting Look Rock
After hiking, I drove north on US-321 and turned east onto the Foothills Parkway. It’s an 11-mile drive up and along the ridge line to Look Rock, an elevated platform from which to observe the Smoky Mountains. Indian Flats Falls
Located in the Tremont section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee, Indian Flats Falls is a series of four waterfalls with a total height of 60-feet. It’s an 8.2 mile out and back hike on a mountain trail, and this is the upper tier, as photographed one foggy autumn morning following a storm of heavy rain and high winds.

Foothills Parkway
These morning photographs were taken in the Smoky Mountains along the new section of the Foothills Parkway, between Wears Valley and Townsend, Tennessee. In lieu of an overcast sunrise, I was pleased to capture these scenic landscape images.
