    Here’s another photograph of the Cheoah River Dam, located in Robbinsville, North Carolina. It was constructed between 1916-1919, stands 225-feet tall, and, in 1993, was used as a filming location for the movie, The Fugitive (starring Harrison Ford).     Spillway

    This photograph was taken at an old gristmill, located along the Clinch River at the Norris Dam State Park, in Tennessee, featuring a manmade terraced-shoot used to divert water when the mill was idle. Today, it’s covered with moss.

    Ocoee Dam

    Completed in late December 1911, the Ocoee Dam #1 is located in Polk County in southern Tennessee. It stands 135-feet tall and was the first plant to supply hydroelectric power to Chattanooga. It also forms Parksville Lake, a popular beach and boating area with 109 miles of shoreline.

    I took this photograph yesterday, following heavy rainfall associated with hurricane “Ida”.
