On the way back home from Cummins Falls, I decided to stop in Monterey, Tennessee, for a short hike to the Bee Rock Overlook. From left to right, these photographs were taken on the cap rock from higher to lower elevations, and highlight seasonal colors.

Point Trail At Obed
I recently hiked four miles out and back along the Point Trail at Obed Wild And Scenic River, located near Lancing, Tennessee. It’s situated on a high ridge between the gorges of the Obed River and Clear Creek.
Rated a moderately difficult hike, the trail has several elevation changes and consists mostly of hard-pack soil. There are a few rocky areas, two stream crossings, and many fallen trees have been cleared.

Bonzai on Bee Rock

Bee Rock Overlook
Located 0.5 miles from I-40 in Monterey, Tennessee, the Bee Rock Overlook is a short hike to expansive scenic views of mountains and valleys on the Cumberland Plateau. A very broad capstone provides several areas to get comfortable, find shade and enjoy a peaceful setting.
