    Baby Falls

    This is one of those waterfalls that, in my opinion, really stands out. While it’s only 12-feet tall, the broad flat-rocks lining the bottom of the river add a sense of scale and beauty. Located on the Tellico River in Tennessee, it would look wonderful as a print in a frame on a wall in your home, and would certainly make a great gift to share, as well.     Standing a meager 12-feet tall, Baby Falls nevertheless packs a wallop when it comes to natural beauty. One of my favorites falls to visit, it’s located on the Tellico River in the Cherokee National Forest of the Southern Appalachian Mountains of eastern Tennessee.

    Thanks to modern technology, however, you won’t have to travel very far to enjoy my scenic landscape photography. Simply visit any of the following shops for a great selection of fine prints and other items:

  • Tellico River

    Tellico River

    I shot this photograph upstream from Baby Falls, along the Tellico River in the Cherokee National Forest of eastern Tennessee. As seen on the large boulder in the river, as well as in the second photograph included, river rocks often have hollow carve-outs. On site, there were dozens visible in and under the water, as well as along the shore – some measuring approx. 4-feet in diameter.

    This is caused over time when a smaller rock consisting of a harder mineral substance becomes caught in a depression or crevasse. Water from the river continually moves the smaller rock within this space, until it bores a hole into the larger rock.

Located on the Tellico River in the Cherokee National Forest of Tennessee, it’s also only 1/4 mile from Bald River Falls, with restrooms, picnic tables and limited parking. Both falls are easy to access – fun for the entire family!

    Visitors can enjoy the falls not far from the parking area and restrooms.

    The best viewing area requires a short but steep descent on a rocky hillside.

    Baby Falls On Tellico River

    Less than half of a mile down the road from Bald River Falls is Baby Falls, a much smaller yet nevertheless worthy scenic attraction. Located on the Tellico River in the Cherokee National Forest of Tennessee, a small parking lot and restrooms are available to visitors. I visited the falls following a few days of rain, as seen in the pictures below:
