  • Indian Flats Falls

    Indian Flats Falls

Located in the Tremont section of the Great Smoky Mountains, near Cades Cove in Tennessee, Indian Flats Falls features a beautiful four-tiered series of waterfalls, totaling nearly 60-feet.

The trek is approx. 8 miles out and back through a scenic, forested landscape, and hikers commonly have the area all to themselves to enjoy a peaceful visit.

Prints are available in my Pixels and ArtPal galleries. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Cave Behind Waterfall

This photograph was taken from inside a massive cave underneath the 40-foot tall Big Laurel Falls, located in the Virgin Falls State Park. Although the water level along Big Laurel Creek was low during my visit, its interesting that the entire area sits on top of a broad network of subterranean caverns. As such, this waterfall (and others) disappear underground, oftentimes to reemerge some great distance away.

You can find a variety of fine prints featuring my photography in the following galleries, including such options as framed, canvas, art, metal, wood, poster, acrylic and tapestry. Other products are also available…

Thanks for visiting & enjoy the great outdoors!

  • Path to a View

Follow this path through the forest to an expansive view from the top of Black Mountain, located in Crab Orchard, Tennessee. Sitting on the caprock, you’ll have an eastern exposure of the Smoky Mountains in the distance.

  • Changing Landscape

    Changing Landscape

Heavy rains saturate the soil, draining downhill to bolster waterways. Strong winds topple trees, some of which may wash downstream. Change is constant and it’s always a good time to visit the forest following notable weather events.

Seen here, Middle Prong Little River is flowing fast the day after heavy rainfall. Located in the Tremont section of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, it’s one of my favorites places to hike, with a wide variety of diverse scenery to enjoy.

You can enjoy this landscape scenery on a print in your home, when you visit my galleries to select the perfect accent piece for an empty wall…

  • Blanket of Water

    Blanket of Water

Following heavy rainfall, Middle Prong Little River was high on the banks and with fewer areas to safely stand while keeping dry. However, the broad spread of water is always a welcome sight!

This landscape photograph was captured in the Smoky Mountains and is available on prints for your home, office, or perhaps as a gift to give family and friends. Learn more when visiting my galleries at Pixels and ArtPal.

    Thanks for stopping by!

These three morning photographs were taken from scenic overlooks along the old section of the Foothills Parkway, located outside of Townsend, Tennessee, near the Smoky Mountains. This roadside attraction – a spring fed waterfall – was photographed on a mountain top along the newer section of the Foothills Parkway, located in the Smoky Mountains near Wears Valley, Tennessee. If interested in a print, you can visit my gallery for a great selection of options.

    Thanks!

  • Flowing Through the Forest

    Flowing Through the Forest

Following rainfall, water from a robust Middle Prong Little River rushes swiftly downstream. This photograph was taken in the Smoky Mountains, near Townsend, Tennessee, and is available on prints for your home or office. Please visit my galleries at Pixels and/or ArtPal for more. Thanks!

  • Roadside Waterfall

    Roadside Waterfall

A recent heavy rainfall saturated the forest floor in the Tremont section of the Smoky Mountains, bringing this often scant waterfall to life. Here, both moss and ferns reside all year long, with the waterfall situated only 15-feet from a gravel road. Several smaller waterfalls can also be enjoyed during such time, along a muddy and scenic drive. Prints available.

  • Visiting Look Rock

After hiking, I drove north on US-321 and turned east onto the Foothills Parkway. It’s an 11-mile drive up and along the ridge line to Look Rock, an elevated platform from which to observe the Smoky Mountains. This was my second visit at this location, and, despite being mostly overcast, it’s always nice to have a look from above the clouds. You can visit my gallery to see more…

  • After the Rain

    After the Rain

Middle Prong Little River was flowing fast after recent rainfall, weather of which (in part) motivated my road trip to the Smoky Mountains. While I knew that the river would be full, I’d also hoped to capture some landscape scenes with fog on the water.

Forecasts indicated dense fog alerts throughout eastern Tennessee, which were subsequently observed along the entirety of my cautious drive. That is, until I travelled beyond Townsend and into the Great National Smoky Mountains Park. Mysteriously, only scattered patches of fog were present?!

As a landscape photographer, I’ve learned to make due with such potentialities, and, in addition to the many wonderful waterfront scenes I found, I also planned to visit the Foothills Parkway afterward, for a view from above the clouds and fog…more on that later.

If you’d be interested in enjoying my photography at home or work, then please visit my galleries at Pixels and/or ArtPal to discover the perfect accent piece! Many prints are available.

    Thanks very much!

  • Icicles on Gorge Wall

    Icicles on Gorge Wall

These icicles were photographed while hiking on the trail between Upper and Lower Piney Falls, located on the Cumberland Plateau in the Piney Falls State Natural Area, near Grandview, TN.

It’s a nice contrast between green moss and white ice, which would look wonderful behind glass in a frame on a wall in your home. You can find many prints available in my gallery, so stop by for a visit when you’re in the neighborhood…

  • Vintage Coastal Waves

    Vintage Coastal Waves

Vintage photograph of waves along the shoreline of Lake Superior, as seen in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, north of Marquette, at Little Presque Isle. The rocks at center and left are islands easily accessed from shore through shallow water. Prints are available when you visit my gallery – thanks very much!
