Poem for a Friend

This poem was written for Annabel, a very talented and beautiful poetess residing in California. An exquisite dancer and friend whose smile melts my heart, she’s also a source of inspiration. Please visit her site to enjoy her creative writings – thank you!

Drifting by night, into a dream
I saw her standing there –
Beside the sea
Under a moon
Gold stardust in her hair

Hers are the words I long to hear
In rapture of the heart
Each welcoming
Our warm embrace
Forming a work of art

The day did dawn, as I arose
Reflecting on her spell
Deep down inside
I wish for her
– the lovely Annabel
