Located in the Cumberland Mountains at Wartburg, Tennessee, the Frozen Head State Park and Natural Area has many trails in over 24,000 acres of wilderness. One such trail is a 3 mile out and back hike to the 20-foot tall Emory Gap Falls.

Unlike parks in the Smoky Mountains, where the volume of tourists can at times be excessive, Frozen Head is a more remote location to enjoy the great outdoors. In fact, on this particular occasion, I was the only visitor present at the falls.
If you might enjoy one of my photographs on an empty wall in your home, or to share as a gift with family and/or friends, then I encourage you to visit my gallery at Fine Art America and select the perfect accent piece! Options include: framed, canvas, art, wood, tapestry, poster, metal and acrylic.

Thanks for stopping by!

Wonderful hike and photos! A bit more wilderness than the viennese forest, though we are truly lucky to have it just in front of our doors and easy to reach….
