Return to Foster Falls

Located in the South Cumberland State Park near Sequatchie, Tennessee, Foster Falls is a 60-foot tall picturesque waterfall which can be enjoyed by visitors both young and old.

The park features a paved road, restrooms, drinking fountain and a wooden boardwalk leading to an observation deck overlooking the gorge and falls.

From there, a short walk along a sandy path leads hikers to the forest, where one encounters a more difficult, steep downhill trail consisting of many rocks. There’s also a suspension bridge at the base, to cross the river.

It was overcast during my visit, yesterday. Nevertheless, it’s a beautiful park and well worth a road trip to enjoy the great outdoors!

  1. OMG, I could listen to the sound of that waterfall all day Phil. 🤗 I couldn’t leave a comment on your “Drip Drip Drip” post, but so glad there was a place on this post to share how refreshing it is to hear such a tranquil background rhythm. 🌊 🌫 💦 The audio really adds to your visual images! Love it my friend! 🥂

    • Thank you so much, my dear friend. 🤗 I agree on both counts – it adds quality to the content, and it’s the sort of tranquil, soothing sound that one could enjoy for hours. For the entirety of my visit, I had the place to myself. A very peaceful setting, indeed. Have a nice evening, Kym. 🥂🌺
